The Hague
duinoord
If you are looking for a centrally located place to call home, but would like to be somewhat distanced from the hustle of a city center, Duinoord is perfect for you. Scheveningen beach and The Hague city Center are right next door, but Duinoord has other perks as well.
Posh, characteristic, central
The Duinoord neighborhood is characterized by its historic winding streets and large townhouses from the turn of the 20th century, featuring decorative elements such as loggias, gables, stained glass, balconies and roof turrets. A very ‘Dutch’ image as you would imagine it. These homes give the neighborhood a posh air. Some excellent examples of this architecture are located on the beautiful Sweelinckplein. The neighborhood also has many spacious apartments, most of which are at the upper end of the price range. The Reinkenstraat features an attractive shopping area with many specialty stores and places to eat or drink. Parking in this area is on the street with a permit. From Duinoord, it is a short walk to the popular shopping street Frederik Hendriklaan – known to locals as ‘the Fred’ – in the adjacent Statenkwartier district. Duinoord is also only 15 minutes from the city center by bicycle. Trams and buses connect the neighborhood to the rest of the city.
